eBay "Giving Works"
By following the instructions below, you can post an item for sale on eBay - through eBay's new "Giving Works" feature - and donate a percentage of the final sale price to New York City Mission Society. Your participation is crucial - clean out your closets today!
To SELL
First, log in to your eBay account.
If you don't have one, click HERE set one up now!
Next, click HERE to share your eBay information with MissionFish, our eBay nonprofit account facilitator.
Once your registered, just follow these simple steps!
Please feel free to print this page for easy reference.
1. In addition to following the prompts (Item Description, Price, etc.), these are the things that you will need to prepare for specific prompts:
Item - What are you selling?
Picture of Item - Do you have a [digital] picture of your item?
Shipping Cost - Have you calculated the shipping cost of your item? You can use the "Shipping Calculator" under Shipping Details when entering your item.
2. Now go ahead and list your item!
3. When you get to the page "Congratulations! You did it again - your item is listed for sale", it's time to run your mouse over the "My eBay" button at the top right of the page and select "Selling" from the drop down menu.
Your item will come up in the middle of the page.
4. Run your mouse over "More Options" in your item listing and select "Revise".
5. Now scroll down to the "Choose how you'd like to sell your item" section and click on "Add or remove options". Check the box "Donate percentage of sale" and hit "Save". In this same section, change "No nonprofit selected" to "Select a new nonprofit...".
6. The eBay Giving Works page pops up! Enter "New York City Mission Society" in the "Nonprofit name or keyword" box and then click the "Search" button. When New York City Mission Society appears, hit the "Select" button.
7. Hit "Agree and Continue" to register with eBay Giving Works. Enter your financial info, select other desired options, and hit "Continue". You may have to hit yet another "Continue" button to bring you back to your eBay settings page.
8. Now select the percentage you would like to donate to New York City Mission Society.
9. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and hit "Continue".
10. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and hit "Submit Revisions".
You've done it!
